Club Euro Fort Lauderdale: Teenager Shot Near Venue After All-Ages Event
A 14-year-old teenager was shot near Club Euro in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, early Thursday morning. The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. near Southwest Second Street and Nugent Avenue, just 30 minutes after an all-ages event concluded at the club. Fort Lauderdale Police were already in the area due to the event. The victim was outside on the street when an unknown subject opened fire.
A witness, Jared Peter, described the chaotic scene with people running in all directions after hearing a single gunshot. He initially believed the victim was shot in the arm, but later learned the injury was to the chest.
Club Euro, a popular Fort Lauderdale nightclub, had hosted the all-ages event and posted a video of the police presence at the venue hours before the shooting. The event organizer, Spoday, expressed sadness over the incident and emphasized that 10 security guards and police detail were present due to the high demand for the event. She stressed that while they prioritize the safety of attendees, they cannot control events that occur outside the venue.
Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue transported the victim to Broward Health Medical Center. Fortunately, the injuries were not life-threatening, and the teenager is expected to recover.
As of Thursday evening, no arrests have been made, and the shooter remains at large. Detectives are actively investigating the shooting and are asking anyone with information to come forward. Broward County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest. Call 954-493-TIPS with any details; callers can remain anonymous.
