Euros Currency Converter: Official EC Rates
This currency converter uses the European Commission’s (EC) official monthly accounting rates for the euro. These rates, established by the EC’s Accounting Officer under Article 19 of the Financial Regulation, calculate reimbursements for expenses, travel, and subsistence costs for external participants in EC-requested meetings and interviews.
The converter offers monthly currency conversion rates dating back to 1994 for both general users and internal EC purposes. Rates reflect market values from the second-to-last day of the preceding month, sourced from the European Central Bank (ECB) or, if unavailable, from EU delegations or other reliable sources.
InforEuro provides current and historical currency rates for countries within and outside the EU. For each currency, it shows historical conversion rates against the euro (or the ecu before December 1998). These rates are available electronically from March 1994 as downloadable files.
This Euros Currency Converter facilitates accurate financial transactions within the EU framework. Its comprehensive historical data provides valuable insights into currency fluctuations over time. The ECB’s involvement ensures the reliability of the provided exchange rates.
