Cartoon Maestro: Unleash Your Inner Animator for Just 219 Euro

Following the enthusiastic response to Cartoon Maestro, we’re excited to provide you with more in-depth information about this unique sound library. We understand the need for comprehensive resources, and to that end, we’ve prepared a detailed manual, available here: Cartoon Maestro Manual. To further assist you in mastering Cartoon Maestro, we are also developing two walkthrough videos. One will focus on the Ensemble Patches, and the other will explore the Solo Instrument Patches. These videos will be available very soon.

The core concept behind Cartoon Maestro is to bring to life the whimsical and often outlandish sounds that have become synonymous with classic animation. We’ve meticulously crafted a diverse collection of solo instruments, each boasting an extensive range of articulations – for example, while you won’t find legato for a sad trombone, many instruments feature over 25 distinct articulations. This dedication to detail provides composers with an unparalleled sonic palette for scoring animation.

While acknowledging other excellent animation libraries available, Cartoon Maestro distinguishes itself by offering refined, granular control and exceptional versatility. We’ve avoided imposing specific instrument combinations, empowering you to create truly diverse and personalized musical landscapes. For the price of just 219 Euro, Cartoon Maestro offers an expansive toolkit for animation scoring, allowing both seasoned professionals and aspiring composers to access high-quality, genre-specific sounds.

Our work with Cartoon Maestro has highlighted the crucial role of contrasting sounds in classic cartoon music. The humor and charm often arise from the interplay of disparate instruments, dynamics, and musical moments. While a single tuba sound can be amusing, the true magic lies in the combination and juxtaposition of varied sonic elements. This realization led to the creation of Ensemble Patches, designed to be versatile and inspiring. Use them as a starting point for scene scoring, as a complement to detailed solo instrument arrangements, or play them directly – they feature multiple velocities and round robins, mirroring the articulations they employ.

Each Ensemble articulation loads up to five different instruments and articulations, driven by internal MIDI compositions crafted by us. This innovative design allows them to be tempo-synced to your Digital Audio Workstation (DAW), offering a dynamic and responsive user experience. They operate differently from simple pre-orchestrated samples, as we will demonstrate in our upcoming video walkthroughs.

Cartoon Maestro includes a comprehensive selection of instruments:

Bass Drum (2 articulations)

Looking ahead, we are developing an update to introduce a crucial feature for the Solo Instruments: speed control for timed articulations like Ornaments, Runs, Grace Notes, and Descriptions. Implementing this essential functionality in a RAM-efficient manner has been our priority.

The “Descriptions” articulations are a unique highlight of Cartoon Maestro. Available across most melodic instruments, they invite the performer to interpret whimsical scenarios such as “a cat falling down the stairs,” “a lumbering elephant,” or “a 16-ton weight plummeting from the sky.” These imaginative interpretations, along with a vast library of other absurd instrument sounds, are also included as WAV files for drag-and-drop convenience. If you’re seeking a particular cartoonish sound beyond the standard articulations, the Descriptions are an invaluable resource.

Within the Descriptions, you’ll also discover short tunes historically featured in the genre, including Brahms Lullaby, Shave and a Haircut, Seven Note Vaudeville Fanfare, Spring Song, Morning of Peer Gynt, Over the Waves, and more. These familiar melodies have been performed with a fresh, improvisational approach, adding another layer of character to Cartoon Maestro. For only 219 euro, this library provides a comprehensive and inspiring toolkit for cartoon music creation.

While Cartoon Maestro is a powerful standalone tool for animation scoring, its true potential shines when integrated with your existing sound libraries. The solo instruments, captured with three microphone positions and a balanced, adaptable sound, seamlessly blend with other orchestral libraries. Our demos showcase Cartoon Maestro in isolation, but we are eager to hear how you incorporate it into your compositions. We believe that for just 219 euro, Cartoon Maestro represents exceptional value and a significant addition to any composer’s toolkit, opening up new creative possibilities in animation scoring.
